[ ARTIFICIAL LIGHTING DESIGN LAYOUT:Â
LUMEN METHOD ]
Our group has decided on a library as our meeting place. We were required to identify additional types of lighting that can supplement the general lighting in our chosen space, and recommend an efficient artificial lighting layout. Through this project, I learned how to use the Lumen Method to calculate how many lamps should be installed in a space. I also gain insight into various lighting types, such as task lighting, accent lighting, and ambient lighting. I got to know how to evenly space the lamps alongside the recommended lighting intensity for building public areas.

[ ASSESSING DAYLIGHT & THERMAL COMFORT
AT MODERN HOUSESÂ ]
For this project, we needed to look into a corner lot terrace house and evaluate its shading and lighting. The principles and specifics required for passive design strategies to work optimally in tropical climates and achieve thermal comfort must be thoroughly investigated. We had to identify problems in the house and propose a passive solution based on measurements and data collection. I have learned the fundamentals of passive building design strategies used to achieve comfort level through this project.
